After I’ve transitioned to StreetSmart Edge, should I uninstall StreetSmart Pro from my computer?

Once you’ve successfully moved your trading to StreetSmart Edge and are comfortable using the platform, you’re welcome to uninstall StreetSmart Pro to free up memory on your computer.

To uninstall StreetSmart Pro from a Microsoft® Windows®-based computer, from the Start menu, select Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs. Then, from the Currently Installed Programs list, select StreetSmart Pro, click on the Change/Remove button, and follow the steps provided.

How do I install StreetSmart Edge?

To download and install StreetSmart Edge, log in to Under the Trade tab, select the Trading Tools page, and then click on the StreetSmart Edge Center link on the left side of the page (or log in to go there directly). From the StreetSmart Edge Center, click Download to save the executable program to your computer.

Once the program has downloaded, launch the installer and accept the agreements provided in order to complete installation. For installation questions or problems, contact a Schwab Client Services Specialist at 800-435-9050.

I already have StreetSmart Edge installed on my computer. How do I know if I have the latest version?

To see if you have the latest version of StreetSmart Edge, launch the platform and under the Help menu, look for the Update Available message.

If this message is shown in gray type and you cannot click it, then your version is up to date. If Update Available is shown in black type, click it to update your platform to the latest version.

Can StreetSmart Edge do everything that StreetSmart Pro can?

Nearly every feature in StreetSmart Pro is also offered in StreetSmart Edge—many of them with a new, more intuitive design.

Some StreetSmart Pro features have not been included in StreetSmart Edge, either because they were replaced by a new feature with similar functionality or because they were used infrequently compared to other StreetSmart Pro features. Most importantly, StreetSmart Edge has many new features that are not available in StreetSmart Pro.

StreetSmart Edge®.

Before you download StreetSmart Edge, make sure you’ve completed the following:

  • Check to make sure your computer system meets the minimum requirements.
  • Export your StreetSmart Pro® watch lists. Learn how.
  • Make note of the tools you use in your StreetSmart Pro layout(s).

Get Started.

Here’s what you need to do to get up and running with StreetSmart Edge:

  • Download and install StreetSmart Edge. (Please note: Your Schwab account login will be required.) If you previously installed an older version of StreetSmart Edge, installing a new version will guarantee that you are up to date.
  • Configure the platform using the Getting Started videos built right into the platform.
  • Import your StreetSmart Pro watch lists. Learn how.
