    Will Schwab and optionsXpress merge their trading platforms or will Schwab change its platform?
    Over time Schwab intends to integrate the optionsXpress and Schwab trading tools to create an optimized trading experience. However, no immediate changes to Schwab trading platforms have been planned.

    I’m interested in trading options. Should I open an account at optionsXpress or Schwab?
    Choosing a broker for your options trading is your decision. We suggest basing your decision on what suits your needs best.

    I am interested in trading futures. Does the acquisition mean I can trade futures in a Schwab account?
    No, you will need to open an optionsXpress account to trade futures as Schwab does not currently offer futures trading in a Schwab account. Find out more about optionsXpress’s futures trading capabilities.

    (Opening an optionsXpress futures account also entitles you to trade stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and options all in one account.)

    If I open an account at either optionsXpress or Schwab, do I get access to services from both firms?
    No, Schwab and optionsXpress are independent broker-dealers and their accounts are separate. To access the account services and features of both firms, you will need to open an account at each firm.

    I am interested in opening an optionsXpress account and am already approved to trade options at my current broker. Will I also need to get options approved at optionsXpress in order to trade options there?

    Yes, each firm handles options trading approvals separately.
