Schwab's perspective on global real estate investing
Consider this: A young, educated workforce in Singapore. Rising household income in Brazil. Export growth
in China. Natural resources in Canada, Australia, Brazil, and Norway. These are some of the factors driving
global growth. And if you're only investing in U.S. companies, they represent opportunities you may be
missing out on.

The Schwab Fundamental Global Real Estate Index Fund is designed to bring broad international
diversification to your portfolio by tracking an index, which holds more than 200 securities in
20 countries¹ while offering the potential for income.

Benefits of a Fundamental
Index® approach
Fundamental Index funds can be an important tool for diversifying
your portfolio. Instead of selecting and weighting companies based
on price or market capitalization, Fundamental Index strategies weight
companies based on objective financial measures, including:
  1. Adjusted sales
  2. Retained operating cash flow
  3. Dividends plus buybacks
A Fundamental Index approach counters the shifting
sentiments of market-driven prices while preserving the
chief benefits of traditional capitalization-weighted indexes
and index funds, including:
  1.    Diversified, broad-market exposure
  2.    Lower expenses and turnover
  3.    A disciplined and transparent methodology

Investors should consider carefully information contained in the prospectus, including investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses. You can request a prospectus by clicking Investor Information or calling 800-435-4000. Please read the prospectus carefully before investing.

Investment value will fluctuate, and shares, when redeemed, may be worth more or less than their original cost.

International investments involve additional risks, which include differences in financial accounting standards, currency fluctuations, geopolitical risk, foreign taxes and regulations, and the potential for illiquid markets. Investing in emerging markets may accentuate these risks.

Risks of investments in REITs are similar to those associated with direct ownership of real estate, such as changes in real estate values and property taxes, interest rates, cash flow of underlying real estate assets, supply and demand, and the management skill and creditworthiness of the issuer.

Diversification does not eliminate the risk of investment losses.

The investment adviser and its affiliates have agreed to limit the total annual fund operating expenses (excluding interest, taxes, and certain non-routine expenses) of the fund to 0.49% for so long as the investment adviser serves as the adviser to the fund. This agreement may only be amended or terminated with the approval of the fund's Board of Trustees. The operating expense ratio (excluding interest, taxes, and certain non-routine expenses) will be waived until January 31, 2015.
