  • On which devices can I use Apple Pay?

    You can set up Apple Pay on your eligible iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac devices. Please see Apple's compatible devices to ensure your device is eligible.

  • How do I add my Schwab Bank Visa® Platinum Debit Card to Apple Pay?
    1. Open Apple's Wallet app on your device.
    2. Take a picture of your debit card within the wallet app or type your debit card number in manually.
      • This picture utilizes your camera to identify the card information but it is not stored in your Photos on the device or with Apple.
    3. Enter your 3-digit security code from the back of your debit card.
    4. Confirm card and accept Schwab Bank user Terms & Conditions

    With Apple Pay, instead of using your actual debit card number when you add your card, a unique device account number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in your device. This number is never stored on Apple servers.

  • Will I have to provide additional information to verify my card info to enroll?

    It is possible that you may need to provide further information in order to authenticate your card and device to enroll. If additional authentication is required, you will be provided with the option to receive a one-time passcode to be sent via text message or email to your mobile phone number or email that Schwab has on file. You will also have the option to call Schwab Bank to provide the additional verification information.

  • How do I add my Schwab Bank Visa Platinum Debit Card to Apple Pay on an Apple Watch?

    To set up your Schwab Bank debit card on your Apple Watch, just open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and select the “Wallet & Apple Pay” option. Tap “Add a Credit or Debit Card.” If your Schwab Bank debit card is associated with your iTunes® account, simply enter the security code. If it's not your iTunes card, use camera within the Wallet app on your iPhone to capture your card information. You can also type it in manually. Make sure to enter the correct card expiration date.

  • How do I make a payment with Apple Pay in a store?

    Hold your phone or Apple Watch near a participating retailer's card reader or double click the home button to get cards ready from the lock screen (if enabled in your Wallet & Apple Pay settings). Your Schwab Bank debit card will appear on your screen. To pay with your phone, just place your finger on Touch ID™ until you see Done and checkmark on the Wallet display. To pay with your Apple Watch, hold the display of the Apple Watch up to the reader until you feel a tap. To pay with Face ID double-click the side button, then glance at your iPhone to authenticate with Face ID, or enter your passcode. Hold the top of your iPhone within a few centimeters of the contactless reader until you see Done and a checkmark on the display.

  • How do I make a payment with Apple Pay on a mobile app?

    You can use your eligible iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch to use Apple Pay within mobile applications where available. If you see the checkout buttons below, Apple Pay is eligible for the app you are using. Tap the button and confirm your billing, shipping and contact information to ensure that it is correct. Enter any information that needs to be updated for the purchase. If you are using an iPhone or iPad, place your finger on Touch ID™ to complete as you would in a store. If you are using an Apple Watch, double click the side button. Once the payment is complete, you will see Done and a checkmark. To pay with Face ID double-click the side button, then glance at your iPhone to authenticate with Face ID, or enter your passcode.

  • How do I make a payment with Apple Pay on a Safari website?

    Safari website on your iPhone or iPad

  • Which retailers accept Apple Pay?

    All types of merchants from grocery stores and restaurants to gas stations, retail stores, online and mobile merchants —accept Apple Pay. See a sample of retailers that accept Apple Pay.

  • How do I know if Apple Pay is accepted at a retailer?

    Look for the contactless symbol and/or the Apple Pay logo on the retailer's card reader or elsewhere in the store to make a purchase with Apple Pay.

  • Does Schwab Bank charge any fees to use Apple Pay?

    No. Schwab Bank does not charge a fee to use Apple Pay.

  • How does verification work?

    Apple Wallet may prompt you for additional security information when you add your debit card. This may include a one-time password sent to your mobile phone number or email address on file with Schwab. You will also have the option to call Schwab for additional authentication if preferred. Once this is verified, you can start using Apple Pay.

  • What if my iPhone is lost or stolen?

    If you have the Find My iPhone app enabled on your lost device, sign in to icloud.com/find on a Mac, PC or use the Find My iPhone app on another iPhone, iPad, or iPod device. Use this to find your device and put your phone in Lost Mode. Then you can lock or erase your phone, which will suspend Apple Pay. If you don't have the app enabled on your lost device, call Schwab Bank at 877-208-4216 to cancel your debit card immediately. This will delete your debit card from Apple Pay.

  • What if my debit card is lost or stolen?

    Call Schwab Bank at 877-208-4216 and we'll cancel your debit card immediately. You should remove the card from the Apple Wallet. After you receive your replacement debit card, you'll need to add it to Apple Pay.

  • Is Apple Pay safe and secure?

    Apple Pay is a secure way to pay because it uses a unique token/code to make each purchase. Merchants never see your debit card number, and none of your payment details are stored on Apple Pay. Learn more about Apple Pay safety features.

  • How can I turn off or delete my card from Apple Pay?

    Go into your Apple Wallet and click on your card. Click on the info icon at the lower right of the Wallet. This will show the card details in your wallet. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Remove Card. Confirm remove card and your card will be deleted from the Apple Wallet and no longer be used for Apple Pay.

Google Pay

  • On which devices can I use Google Pay?

    You can set up Google Pay on your eligible Android phones. Check if your phone is compatible to make purchases using Google Pay.

  • How do I add my Schwab Bank Visa® Platinum Debit Card to Google Pay?
    1. Open Google Pay on your device or download the app from the Google Play Store.
    2. Take a picture of your debit card within the Google Pay app, type your debit card number in manually or select a card previously used with Google.
      • This picture utilizes your camera to identify the card information but it is not stored in your Photos on the device or with Google.
    3. Enter your 3-digit security code from the back of your debit card.
    4. Confirm card and accept Schwab Bank user Terms & Conditions

    With Google Pay, instead of using your actual debit card number when you add your card, a unique device account number is assigned and stored on secure servers encrypted with industry-standard SSL (secure socket layer) technology.

  • Will I have to provide additional information to verify my card info to enroll?

    It is possible that you may need to provide further information in order to authenticate your card and device to enroll. If additional authentication is required, you will be provided with the option to receive a one-time passcode to be sent via text message or email to your mobile phone number or email that Schwab has on file. You will also have the option to call Schwab Bank to provide the additional verification information.

  • How do I add my Schwab Bank Visa Platinum Debit Card to Google Pay on an Android Wear Watch?

    To set up your Schwab Bank debit card on your Android Wear watch, open the Google Pay app on your Android Wear device and select the “Get Started”. If you have not already set up screen lock, set up at this time. On you Android phone, follow the instructions to add your debit card (this will only add a card to the Google Pay app on your watch. The card you added should now show up on your Android Wear device.

  • How do I make a payment with Google Pay in a store?

    Unlock your phone and hold the device close to terminal and tap if necessary. There is no requirement to open the Google Pay app. Once the purchase is complete, a checkmark will verify the completed payment.

  • How do I make a payment with Google Pay on a mobile app or online?

    You can use your eligible Android device to use Google Pay within mobile applications and Google Chrome websites where available. If you see the checkout buttons below, Google Pay is eligible in the app or website you are using. Tap the button and confirm your billing, shipping and contact information to ensure that it is correct. Enter any information that needs to be updated for the purchase. Once the payment is complete, you will see a checkmark.

  • What if my Android device is lost or stolen?

    If your Android device that was lost or stolen has:

    1. Lost device has ‘Find My Device' or ‘Android Device Manager' turned on (on is the default setting)
    2. Powered on
    3. Signed into a Google Account
    4. Connected to mobile data or Wi-Fi
    5. Visible on Google Play
    6. Has Location turned on

    Then, you can use android.com/find and sign in to your Google account to locate your device or use the Find My Device app that is installed on a different Android phone or tablet to find your lost device.

    If you would like to lock or erase information from the phone, click the lost device at the top of the screen. On the map, you will be able to see an approximate location of the device. If the device is not found, Find My Device will present the last know location if available. You may need to click Enable lock & erase. From here you have the option to play sound, lock or erase. If you choose erase, Find My Device will not work on the device any longer. If you don't have the app enabled on your lost device or the lost device is not able to be located, call Schwab Bank at 877-208-4216 to cancel your debit card immediately. This will delete your debit card from Google Pay.

  • What if my debit card is lost or stolen?

    Call Schwab Bank at 877-208-4216 and we'll cancel your debit card immediately. You should remove the card from the Google Pay. After you receive your replacement debit card, you'll need to add it to Google Pay.

    Open the Google Pay app. If you have multiple Google accounts in Google Pay, at the top left, touch your name and choose the account you want to remove a card from. Tap the card you would like to delete. Scroll down and tap Remove Card.

    If you have difficulty removing a card, you can also edit or remove it from the Goolge payments center. On the Google payments center, sign in to Payment Methods. Under the card you would like to delete, click Remove.

  • Is Google Pay the same as Google Wallet™?

    No, Google Wallet is a method to transfer money person to person that is offered by Google. Google Wallet cannot be used to make purchases in stores or mobile apps like Google Pay.

Samsung Pay™

  • On which devices can I use Samsung Pay?

    You can set up Samsung Pay on your eligible Samsung devices. It may be necessary for you to update your Samsung device software. Check if your device is compatible here.

  • How do I add my Schwab Bank Visa® Platinum Debit Card to Samsung Pay?
    1. Open Samsung Pay on your device or download the app from the Google Play Store.
      1. You may need to have an operating system update to your Samsung device in order to utilize Samsung Pay
    2. Scan your fingerprint or iris and enter a PIN for future purchase authentication.
    3. Take a picture of your debit card within the Samsung Pay app or type your debit card number in manually.
      1. This picture utilizes your camera to identify the card information but it is not stored in your Photos on the device or with Google.
    4. Enter your 3-digit security code from the back of your debit card.
    5. Confirm card and accept Schwab Bank user Terms & Conditions

    With Samsung Pay, instead of using your actual debit card number when you add your card, a unique device account number is assigned. Your personal and payment information is not stored on a Samsung server or on your phone. Samsung Pay does not change the way your payment information is stored or handled when purchases are made. A transaction specific token is used to replace your card number is stored temporarily on your phone for the time it takes to process your transaction.

  • Will I have to provide additional information to verify my card info to enroll?

    It is possible that you may need to provide further information in order to authenticate your card and device to enroll. If additional authentication is required, you will be provided with the option to receive a one-time passcode to be sent via text message or email to your mobile phone number or email that Schwab has on file. You will also have the option to call Schwab Bank to provide the additional verification information.

  • How do I add my Schwab Bank Visa Platinum Debit Card to Samsung Pay on a Samsung Gear?

    To set up your Schwab Bank debit card on your Samsung Gear watch, open the Samsung Pay app on your Samsung Wear device and select the “Get Started”. If you have not already set up screen lock, set up at this time. On you Samsung phone, follow the instructions to add your debit card (this will only add a card to the Samsung Pay app on your watch. The card you added should now show up on your Samsung Wear device.

  • How do I make a payment with Samsung Pay in a store?

    You can use your Samsung device enabled with Samsung Pay at any point of sale reader that is contactless or ‘swipe' type of terminal. If the terminal is a contactless reader, your Samsung device will default to the contactless method of communication. There are two modes for payments depending on the enablement of Simple Pay enabled on a Samsung device. To manage your Simple Pay settings, from the home screen touch Apps, click Samsung Pay, click More, Settings and click Edit Simple Pay.

    Simple Pay enabled:

    1. Access the Samsung Pay app (swipe up from the bottom of the screen on the device)
    2. Select payment card from the card carousel if more than one card has been added
    3. Tap or place device in proximity of the point of sale terminal
    4. Use your fingerprint or your Samsung Pay PIN to initiate payment
      1. Please note, this PIN is not the same as your Schwab Bank debit card PIN but rather a PIN set for your Samsung device specifically

    Simple Pay not enabled:

    1. Unlock your Samsung device
    2. Access the Samsung Pay application
    3. Select your Schwab Band debit card
    4. Use your fingerprint or Samsung Pay PIN to initiate payment
      1. Please note, this PIN is not the same as your Schwab Bank debit card PIN but rather a PIN set for your Samsung device specifically
  • How do I make a payment with Samsung Pay on a mobile app or online?

    You can use your eligible Samsung device to use Samsung Pay within mobile applications when supported by the retailer's app. You will see a ‘Samsung Pay' button that you will select and be transferred to the Samsung Pay app on your device to select your Schwab Bank debit card. Verify your billing address, verify/change your shipping address, and authorize the payment with your fingerprint, iris scan or enter your Samsung Pay PIN. At this time the ‘Samsung Pay' button for website purchases are not available.

  • What type of point of sale devices can Samsung Pay be used at?

    All point of sale devices that utilize magnetic strip (swipe terminals) and/or contactless (NFC) functionality can be used by Samsung phones. Samsung Gear watches only work at terminals that are contactless support NFC (near field communications) at this time. Samsung phones utilize a technology called Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) that is able to communicate with older terminals via a magnetic signal that mimics the magnetic strip on a traditional payment card. This technology also utilizes the unique token or mobile account number so this is just as safe as utilizing the contactless functionality for purchases at retail stores.

  • Which retailers accept Samsung Pay?

    Any merchant with either a point of sale terminal that accepts a traditional swipe transaction and/or a contactless reader can accept Samsung Pay. See a sample of retailers that accept Samsung Pay.

  • Does Schwab Bank charge a fees to use Samsung Pay?

    However, you can utilize the Samsung service Find My Mobile to erase or lock your Schwab Bank debit card enrolled in Samsung Pay. You can erase the entire device or choose to lock Samsung Pay using the service. If you have not already contacted Schwab Bank, Samsung Pay may also request Schwab Bank to suspend transactions made from the card on your Samsung device. If you are able to locate your device, you can unlock your card with your fingerprint of by entering your Samsung Pay PIN.

  • What if my debit card is lost or stolen?

    Call Schwab Bank at 877-208-4216 and we'll cancel your debit card immediately. You should remove the card from the Samsung Pay. After you receive your replacement debit card, you'll need to add it to Samsung Pay.

    Open the Samsung Pay app. Tap credit/debit. Touch the card you would like to have removed. Click ‘View More' and then ‘Delete card'. Select the reason on why you would like to remove the card, then touch ‘Delete. To remove the card, click ‘Delete' one last time. This will remove the payment information including the mobile account number from your Samsung device.

  • Is Samsung Pay the same as Google Wallet?

    No, Google Wallet is a method to transfer money person to person that is offered by Google. Google Wallet cannot be used to make purchases in stores or mobile apps like Samsung Pay.
