 American Century Executive Deferred Compensation Plan (the “Plan”) Introduction
Features of this Plan include:
• Abilitytodeferadditionalcompensationbeyondthemaximumemployeecontributions permitted in the qualified American Century Retirement Plan (the “Retirement Plan”). Because the Plan is a non-qualified plan, it is exempt from federal regulations that limit the amount of compensation you can defer from taxation.
• Abilitytoaccumulatepotentialearningsonatax-deferredbasisuntilamountsaredistributed to you.
Please take time to carefully review this enrollment guide before electing to participate in the Plan.
In order to participate in the Plan, you must enroll during the annual open enrollment period, which typically occurs in December. Unless you become eligible during the Plan year, you may only enroll during the annual open enrollment period. You will receive advance notification announcing the open enrollment period each year. Your decision to defer compensation into the Plan for a given year is irrevocable and cannot be changed until the next annual open enrollment period.
