Investing Strategies:
Do It Yourself
Core Funds
If you prefer to make your own investment decisions, the Core Funds may be right for you. Core Funds include a list of well-researched investment choices selected by the Retirement Benefits Committee, allowing you to build and manage your 401(k) Plan portfolio. The list has been crafted to give you a diverse range of investment choices to accommodate your financial goals and savings time horizons.
What Are Core Funds?
Core Funds have been pre-selected by Latham
to provide flexibility in creating a diversified portfolio reflecting your retirement savings style. The asset category, risk rating, and historical performance
for each of the funds are just some of the factors
to consider when making your retirement savings investment decisions.
An investment fund profile is available for each investment fund in your 401(k) Plan. To obtain more information about the investment funds offered in your 401(k) Plan, refer to the investment fund profile sheets located on workplace.schwab.com >
My Account > Fund Performance.
How Core Funds Work
• Complete the Investor Profile Questionnaire— an online tool designed to assist you in determining your investing time horizon and risk tolerance. The questionnaire may be viewed online at workplace.schwab.com > Manage Account > Investments.
• Select the funds that interest you, and determine the percentage of your contribution that you would like to allocate to each fund.
• Re-evaluate your financial plan and investment risk regularly to help ensure it continues to align with your retirement savings goals.
