Hole #5

  • Number 5 is as tough a par 4 as we’ll see all year. There’s wind we can’t see or feel, but we know it’s there, hurting us from the right. 160 to the front, on 14, 8 behind it. It’s a hold 7. Feel the shot.

This No. 1 handicap hole is a tremendous par 4. A very challenging tee shot must negotiate a valley of rough on the left and the Trinity River looming on the right. A good tee shot left of center avoids an overhanging tree on the right and leaves a long, difficult second to a well-bunkered green.
